Receding temples

Receding Temples Treatment

What is behind it, how far it has gone and which options exist.

The hairline moving back at the temples. It is part of the typical male pattern of hair loss and is caused by a hereditary sensitivity of the follicles to the hormone DHT.

  1. Stage 1–2

Slight recession at the temples, often barely noticeable.

  2. Stage 3

Clear temple recession, the hairline forms an M shape.

  3. Stage 4–5

Deeper corners, often with thinning at the crown.

  4. Stage 6–7

Severe hair loss from forehead to crown. The donor area decides what is possible.

Simplified diagrams, view from above. The doctor determines the stage.

Procedure

A natural hairline is not straight, so it is planned point by point.
